As a general guideline, each
hour of class time, especially in a mathematics course, requires an average of
at least two hours of
outside-of-class study. If this guideline is applied to a student taking 15
hours of course work during the semester, it translates to 15 hours of in-class
time plus at least 30 hours of out-of-class work studying the material that was
covered in class. This totals to 45 hours of academic work per week. To be a
full-time student in college is to have a full week of responsibilities.
