Mastiff

Their are many different types of giant dogs. There are St. Benards, Great Danes, English Shepards, ..., but I love the breed called Mastiffs. There are really two types of Mastiffs, the Bullmastiff and the English Mastiff. There are other dogs that sometimes are coined as mastiffs such as the Dogue de Bordeeax (French Mastiff like in Turner and Hooch), Fila Brasileiro (Brazilian Mastiff), Mastin Del Pirineo, Mastin Espanol, Neapolitian Mastiff, Tibetian Mastiff, however these are not really Mastiffs (see History of Mastiff )

I have a 2 year old English Mastiff named Sable. Sable is a brindle mastiff, brindle is the color of her coat which is tiger stripe dark brown and light brown streaks. She is a smaller female mastiff, weighing in at around 130 pounds. She is very gentle and loves to play with her football and tug of war with ropes (she is pretty strong). The pictures below will give you a good idea of what she looks like. There is many websites on the internet dealing with mastiffs. I really like the website called the darkside .
