Student Comments

• The way I know I am sure about a concept or idea is when:

1. "The concept or idea works for multiple problems when I am working on my own. Then when I come to class and others agree with my ideas"
2. "I understand the other students' reasoning about how to complete the activity pages."
3. "I feel comfortable enough to get up in front of class and explain a problem."
4. "I can not only see the proof on my paper, but when other students agree with me as well."
5. "I work with the problem and check myself. I also check my answers with other classmates in class."
6. "I am able to work on the problem on my own and get the correct answer."
7. "I can explain it to someone else."
8. "I try it out on several different problems on our worksheets, and if it works every time I am pretty sure about it working for the rest of the time."
9. "I see the concept presented in class; I understand the concept and feel comfortable enough to perform the concept on homework or an exam."
10. "I can reason it out several ways, and I can explain it to someone else."
