GETTING STARTED
DON'T PANIC!
Being able to use the Teacher Written Materials in your classroom does
not require that you study this entire manual! All you need to do is follow
the three simple steps listed below.
- Reread "Using the Teacher Learning System" (TI-85
TLS) to obtain the information you need to know to use the Teacher Written
Materials.
- Transfer the library of programs and the "Custom" menu to
your calculator from one already loaded. This procedure is explained under
"Transferring Programs Using 'Memory Backup'" on page G-8 (that
is, page 8 of the General Information section).
- Running programs and functions stored in the calculator is simple
and explained in this section. Once you are comfortable with the procedure,
you are ready to take full advantage of what these written materials have
to offer. As an example, suppose your algebra class is studying how to graph
an inequality. Turn to the section of the table of contents for Algebra
to locate the program "Graphing a Single Inequality." An example
and the steps needed to run the program INEQS is given on page A-10.
